Acrylic and Latex on Canvas

I started by stretching the canvas then priming it with black house paint. I tinted the black latex for the second-fifth coats with red/dark red. I wanted a subtle warmth to the black to push against the light blue canvas strips I would be weaving in.
Here you can see the process of weaving in the teal strips of canvas. I used a utility knife to cut the canvas and a screwdriver to push the strips through.
I glued several pieces of cardboard to the back of the canvas for stability.
